Ultrasound Questions
When is the best time to get 3D/4D/HD done?
What is the difference between 3D, 4D, & HD imaging?
Is 3D/4D/HD Ultrasound safe for me and my baby?
Ultrasounds have been used for over 50 years, with millions of images produced. Numerous studies and medical research have shown no adverse side effects when properly used. The same frequency is used for 3D/4D/HD as your doctor uses in 2D ultrasound. There is no radiation involved when using sonography.
What can I do to get the best possible pictures?
Every baby’s image is going to be different. Many factors determine the clarity of an ultrasound image. The amount and clarity of amniotic fluid around baby, gestational age, position of baby, and body condition of mother (we are all different), are a few factors that affect the image.
We recommend expectant moms to drink as close to a gallon of water each day, beginning 4 days before the ultrasound. If this is done to the best of your ability we can almost always get good images of baby if they are in a good position.
When can I find out the gender of my baby in an ultrasound? What if we cannot see the gender?
Gender reveal party and ultrasound on same day?
What if baby has hands, feet, cord, placenta, etc. in his/her face? Why aren’t my pictures as clear as other images I have seen?
When do I get my pictures and video?
We print pictures immediately following your session and you take them home with you. If you purchased a package that includes emailed images or video they are emailed the same day through “WETRANSFER”

How much water should I drink, do I need a full bladder? Can I eat before I come?
We recommend you drink as close to a gallon of water each day, beginning 4 days before the ultrasound. It is helpful to have a full bladder. You can eat before your visit, avoid dairy as it can create gas.
How many people are allowed to come to the appointment? Are children allowed to come watch?
Family and friends are welcome to join in the excitement of seeing baby! Our scan room is large and can seat 10 people comfortably, counting mom & dad. Yes, children are allowed, as long as another adult will pe present to care for them at all times.
